Nassarawa Government Confirms Death of 8 Patients Due to Lassa Fever Outbreak
The Nassarawa State Government has confirmed that 8 patients have lost their lives due to the outbreak of Lassa fever in the state. According to a statement released by the state government, the patients died at various hospitals in the state, including the Nassarawa State University Teaching Hospital and the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi.
The statement also revealed that a total of 23 cases of Lassa fever have been reported in the state, with 15 of the cases being confirmed positive. The patients who died were from various local government areas, including Nassarawa, Karu, and Keffi.
The state government has assured that it is taking all necessary measures to contain the outbreak, including increasing surveillance and contact tracing, as well as providing treatment to those affected.
