Naira marley granted n2m bail

According to reports, Naira Marley, the Nigerian musician, has been granted N2 million bail by a Lagos State Magistrates' Court.

Naira Marley was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in May 2020 for alleged fraud and money laundering. He was subsequently charged to court and has been in custody since then.

The court granted him bail on the condition that he provides two sureties who must be gainfully employed and have a minimum of N500,000 monthly income. The sureties must also swear to an affidavit of means and provide evidence of their income.

Naira Marley's lawyer, Olusegun Jolaawo, had earlier applied for bail for his client, citing the fact that he had been in custody for over a year and had not been charged to court. The court granted the bail application, pending the outcome of the trial.

It's worth noting that Naira Marley's case is still ongoing, and he is expected to appear in court again for further proceedings.
