Naira gains n10 to appreciate against dollar

I think there may be a mistake here!

The Naira (NGN) is the official currency of Nigeria, and it is not possible for it to "gain" N10 against the US Dollar (USD) because the Naira is the base currency and the Dollar is the quote currency in a currency pair.

In a currency pair, the base currency is the one that is being traded against the quote currency. For example, in the currency pair USD/NGN, the US Dollar is the base currency and the Naira is the quote currency.

If the Naira were to "gain" N10 against the Dollar, it would mean that the value of the Naira has increased by N10 against the Dollar, which is not possible.

Instead, if the Naira were to appreciate against the Dollar, it would mean that the value of the Naira has increased relative to the Dollar, making it more valuable. For example, if the exchange rate were to change from 360 NGN/USD to 350 NGN/USD, the Naira would have appreciated by 10% against the Dollar.

I hope this clears up any confusion!
