Mourinho ill never play rooney midfield

A bold statement!

While it's true that Jose Mourinho has often been critical of Wayne Rooney's ability to play in midfield, he has indeed experimented with Rooney in a deeper role on several occasions.

In fact, during his first spell at Manchester United, Mourinho played Rooney in a more advanced midfield role, often alongside Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini. Rooney's pace and power were seen as assets in this position, allowing him to make late runs into the box and create scoring opportunities.

However, it's also true that Mourinho has often been frustrated with Rooney's lack of defensive discipline and his tendency to drift out of position. As a result, he has sometimes opted to play Rooney in a more traditional attacking role, where his goalscoring ability can be utilized.

So, while Mourinho may not have played Rooney in midfield as frequently as some fans might have liked, he has certainly experimented with the idea and seen some benefits from it.
