Model of new jerusalem
The New Jerusalem is a concept described in the Book of Revelation in the New Testament of the Bible. It is a vision of a future city that will be the dwelling place of God and the redeemed, and is often referred to as the "New Heaven and the New Earth".
The New Jerusalem is described in Revelation 21:1-22:5, and is said to be a city that descends from heaven, prepared as a bride for her husband. It is described as a city with:
- Walls made of jasper and a foundation of precious stones (Revelation 21:18-21)
- A wall with 12 gates, three on each side, made of pearl, and the streets of the city are made of gold (Revelation 21:12-21)
- A river of the water of life, which flows from the throne of God and of the Lamb (Revelation 22:1-2)
- No need for sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city (Revelation 21:23)
- No night, for God is the light of the city (Revelation 22:5)
- The throne of God and of the Lamb, and the Lamb is its lamp (Revelation 22:1-3)
The New Jerusalem is also described as a place where:
- God dwells among his people, and they will be his people, and he will be their God (Revelation 21:3-4)
- There will be no more sorrow, crying, or pain, for the former things have passed away (Revelation 21:4)
- The redeemed will live forever in the presence of God, and will be free from sin and its consequences (Revelation 21:4-5)
The New Jerusalem is often seen as a symbol of the ultimate goal of human existence, where God's people will live in harmony with God and with each other, and where there will be no more suffering or pain. It is a vision of a future where God's will is fully realized, and where all things are made new.
In terms of a model or architecture, the New Jerusalem is often depicted as a city with a specific design and layout. Some common features of models of the New Jerusalem include:
- A central square or plaza, often representing the throne of God and the Lamb
- A series of concentric circles or rings, representing the city's walls and gates
- A river or fountain, representing the river of life
- A series of buildings or structures, representing the homes and temples of the city
- A central axis or spine, representing the path or way of the city
These models are often used to help people visualize and understand the concept of the New Jerusalem, and to inspire and motivate people to work towards the ultimate goal of living in harmony with God and with each other.
