Michael Emmanuel has emerged winner of the Quramo Writers Prize 2018 for his manuscript titled ‘Running Waters’.
Michael was announced the winner at the award ceremony which took place at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos on Sunday, October 21, 2018.
With his win, he will receive a N1 million cash prize as well as a publishing contract with Quramo Publishing.
Speaking during the award ceremony, the Executive Publisher of Quramo Publishing Limited, Gbemi Shasore expressed her delight over the winner of the competition.
Expressing her delight, the Executive of Quramo Publishing Limited, Gbemi Shasore said; “We are delighted to announce the winner of the Quramo Writers Prize 2018.
“Our over-arching aims to discover new literary stars and we are happy to be fulfilling our mandate. We congratulate Michael on his much-deserved win,” she added.
Achalugo Ezekobe emerged the second runner-up with ‘Boys on Jumping Trousers’ while Ani Obiamaka was the first runner-up with ‘The Girl Who Saw Tomorrow’.
Ugoma Adegoke and Sefi Attah presented Ezekobe and Obiamaka their certificates respectively.
