Michael bloomberg ends us presidential campaign

Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire founder of Bloomberg LP and former Mayor of New York City, has ended his presidential campaign.

On March 4, 2020, Bloomberg announced that he was suspending his presidential campaign, citing the lack of a viable path to the Democratic nomination. He had entered the race in November 2019, but struggled to gain traction and failed to win any of the 14 primaries and caucuses he participated in.

Bloomberg's campaign was marked by controversy, including criticism over his stop-and-frisk policing policy as Mayor of New York City and his support for charter schools. He also faced criticism for his late entry into the race, which some saw as an attempt to buy his way into the nomination.

Despite his campaign's struggles, Bloomberg remained a significant player in the Democratic primary, with a large war chest and a strong organization. He spent over $500 million of his own money on the campaign, but ultimately failed to gain the support of voters.

Bloomberg's decision to end his campaign leaves the Democratic field with a smaller number of candidates, but the party is still likely to have a contested convention in July.
