Metallica new album
Metallica has been working on a new album, titled "72 Seasons", which is scheduled to be released on April 14, 2023. This will be the band's 12th studio album and their first new music since "Hardwired... to Self-Destruct" in 2016.
The album was announced on September 9, 2022, with the release of the first single, "Lux Æterna". The song features a more experimental sound than some of Metallica's previous work, with a focus on atmospheric instrumentation and introspective lyrics.
The album's title, "72 Seasons", refers to the 72 seasons of human life, as described in the book "The Book of Knowledge" by the 14th-century mystic and alchemist, Hermes Trismegistus. The album's lyrics explore themes of life, death, and the human experience, with the band drawing inspiration from their own personal struggles and experiences.
Metallica has been working on the album with producer Greg Fidelman, who has previously worked with the band on "Death Magnetic" and "Hardwired... to Self-Destruct". The album is expected to feature a mix of heavy, aggressive tracks and more melodic, introspective songs.
Here is the tracklist for "72 Seasons":
- "72 Seasons"
