Marcell Coetzee's advice for Springbok debutants

Springbok flanker Marcell Coetzee has offered words of wisdom to the six debutants who will run out for South Africa against Argentina in Buenos Aires on Saturday.

Coetzee, who made his debut in 2012 and has since earned 43 caps, knows what it takes to succeed at the highest level. He believes that the key to a successful debut is to stay calm and focused.

"Debutants often get caught up in the excitement of making their debut, but it's important to remember that it's just another game," Coetzee said. "You've got to stay calm, focus on your game plan and trust your training.

"Don't try to do too much, just focus on your role in the team and do your job to the best of your ability. And don't be afraid to make mistakes – everyone makes mistakes, even the experienced players."

Coetzee also emphasized the importance of communication and teamwork.

"Communication is key in rugby. Make sure you're talking to your teammates, telling them what you see and what you're doing. And remember that it's a team sport – you're not out there on your own.

Coetzee believes that each of the debutants has the potential to make a big impact on the game.

"They're all talented players who have worked hard to get to this point," he said. "I'm sure they'll all do their best and make their mark on the game. And who knows, maybe one or two of them will go on to have long and successful careers for the Springboks."

The Springboks face Argentina in the Rugby Championship on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 21:10 SA time.
