Manchester united sign eric bailly

A blast from the past!

On June 12, 2016, Manchester United signed Eric Bailly from Villarreal CF for a reported fee of £30 million. At the time, Bailly was just 22 years old and had been playing for Villarreal in La Liga.

Bailly made his Manchester United debut on July 14, 2016, in a pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic. He went on to make his competitive debut for the club on August 7, 2016, in a Premier League match against Bournemouth.

During his time at Manchester United, Bailly established himself as a key player in the team, known for his pace, power, and defensive skills. He won the UEFA Europa League with the club in 2017 and was also a member of the team that finished second in the Premier League in the 2017-2018 season.

However, Bailly's time at Manchester United was not without controversy. He was criticized for his inconsistent form and was often injured, which limited his playing time. In 2020, he was loaned out to Everton FC for the remainder of the season, and in 2021, he joined Marseille on a permanent transfer.
