"Leaders of the New School" was a hip hop group from New York City, formed in 1989. The group consisted of:
- Busta Rhymes (Trevor Smith Jr.) - lead vocals
- Charlie Brown (Derek Murphy) - vocals, DJ
- Cut Monitor Milo (Marlon Williams) - vocals, DJ
- Dinco D (Dennis Coles) - vocals, bass
The group was known for their energetic live performances, complex lyrics, and innovative production style, which blended elements of jazz, funk, and rock with traditional hip hop. They were also part of the Native Tongues Posse, a collective of like-minded hip hop groups that included De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, and the Jungle Brothers.
