Lagos state new salary structure
The Lagos State Government has introduced a new salary structure for its employees, which took effect from January 2022. The new structure is designed to improve the welfare of workers and align with the current economic realities.

Grade Levels and Salary Scales:
The new structure has 17 grade levels, with the following salary scales:
- Grade Level 01: N30,000 - N40,000 per month
- Grade Level 02: N40,000 - N50,000 per month
- Grade Level 03: N50,000 - N60,000 per month
- Grade Level 04: N60,000 - N70,000 per month
- Grade Level 05: N70,000 - N80,000 per month
- Grade Level 06: N80,000 - N90,000 per month
- Grade Level 07: N90,000 - N100,000 per month
- Grade Level 08: N100,000 - N110,000 per month
- Grade Level 09: N110,000 - N120,000 per month
- Grade Level 10: N120,000 - N130,000 per month
- Grade Level 11: N130,000 - N140,000 per month
- Grade Level 12: N140,000 - N150,000 per month
- Grade Level 13: N150,000 - N160,000 per month
- Grade Level 14: N160,000 - N170,000 per month
- Grade Level 15: N170,000 - N180,000 per month
- Grade Level 16: N180,000 - N190,000 per month
- Grade Level 17: N190,000 - N200,000 per month
Other Benefits:
In addition to the salary scales, the new structure also provides for other benefits, including:
- Housing Allowance: 10% of basic salary
- Transport Allowance: 10% of basic salary
- Leave Allowance: 1 month's basic salary per annum
- Annual Leave: 20 working days per annum
- Public Holiday: 10 working days per annum
- Medical Allowance: 5% of basic salary
- Pension Contribution: 7.5% of basic salary
Implementation:
The new salary structure is expected to be implemented in phases, with the first phase covering employees in the state's ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs). The second phase will cover employees in the state's local governments and other parastatals.
