Kenyas supreme court upholds kenyatta re election
I think there may be some outdated information here.
Actually, the Supreme Court of Kenya did not uphold Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election in 2017. In fact, the court nullified the presidential election results and ordered a new election to be held within 60 days.
On August 28, 2017, the Supreme Court of Kenya delivered a landmark ruling, declaring that the presidential election held on August 8, 2017, was invalid and unconstitutional. The court found that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) had committed irregularities and illegalities during the election, including the hacking of the electronic results transmission system.
As a result, the court ordered the IEBC to conduct a fresh presidential election within 60 days. The new election was held on October 26, 2017, and Uhuru Kenyatta was re-elected as President of Kenya.
It's worth noting that the Supreme Court's decision was a significant moment in Kenyan history, as it marked the first time a presidential election had been nullified by the court in Kenya. The ruling was seen as a major step forward for democracy and the rule of law in the country.
