Jose mourinho avoids premier league title question
A classic Mourinho move!
Here's a possible scenario:
Journalist: "Jose, with your team currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table, do you think you can win the title this season?"
Mourinho: smirking "Ah, the title? Ha! We're just focusing on the next game, the next opponent. We can't control what others do, we can only control what we do on the pitch. We're taking it one game at a time, and that's all that matters."
Journalist: "But surely you must have an eye on the title? You're in a great position to win it..."
Mourinho: waving his hand dismissively "No, no, no. We're not thinking about the title. We're thinking about the next training session, the next match, the next challenge. That's all that matters. The title will take care of itself if we focus on the process, not the outcome."
Journalist: "But what about the pressure to perform? Don't you feel like you're under pressure to deliver a title?"
Mourinho: laughing "Pressure? Ha! Pressure is for those who can't handle the game. I've been in this game a long time, I know how to handle pressure. We're not under pressure, we're under obligation to perform to the best of our abilities. That's it."
And so the journalist leaves the press conference, still trying to get a straight answer out of Mourinho about the title, but ultimately getting a series of evasive and cleverly worded responses that leave them frustrated but also impressed by the manager's ability to deflect attention and maintain a sense of mystery around his team's ambitions.
