Islamqa happy new year

Assalamu alaikum!

I'm happy to wish you a Happy New Year in the Islamic tradition! In Islam, we don't celebrate the Gregorian calendar's New Year, but we do mark the beginning of a new Hijri year, which is based on the Islamic lunar calendar.

The Islamic New Year, also known as Rabi' al-awwal, typically falls in late March or early April. It's a time for Muslims to reflect on the past year, seek forgiveness, and look forward to the blessings of the new year.

May this new year bring you peace, prosperity, and spiritual growth. May Allah guide you on the path of righteousness and grant you the opportunity to perform many good deeds.

Here's a traditional Islamic greeting for the new year:

"Al-hamdu lillah, wa mabrook al-hijri al-mubarak!"

Which means: "Praise be to Allah, and blessings be upon the blessed Hijri year!"

Wishing you a wonderful Islamic New Year!
