Isaiah new testament
I think there may be a mistake here!
Isaiah is actually a book in the Old Testament of the Bible, not the New Testament. It is one of the Major Prophets in the Old Testament and is attributed to the prophet Isaiah, who lived in the 8th century BC.
The book of Isaiah contains prophecies and messages from God to the people of Judah and Israel, warning them of impending judgment and calling them to repentance and faithfulness. It also contains promises of salvation and restoration, including the famous prophecy of the coming Messiah (Isaiah 53).
Some of the most well-known passages in Isaiah include:
- Isaiah 9:6-7: "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
- Isaiah 53:3-5: "He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by whose wounds we are healed."
- Isaiah 11:1-10: "A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him, the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord."
These are just a few examples of the many powerful and prophetic passages in the book of Isaiah.
