Isaiah 60 good news bible

Here is Isaiah 60 in the Good News Bible (GNB):

Isaiah 60

The Glory of Zion

1 Arise, shine out! For your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. 2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness the nations, but the Lord will rise upon you, and his glory will appear over you. 3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. 4 Lift up your eyes and look around—your children will come from far away, and your daughters will be carried on the arms of foreigners. 5 Then you will see and be radiant, your heart will thrill and never grow faint. 6 The sun will no longer be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine down on you, for the Lord will be your light, the Lord will be your glory. 7 Your sun will never set again, and your moon will not cease to shine. The Lord will be your eternal light, and the days of your mourning will be over. 8 All the nations you have punished will join you, and people from distant lands will say, "Come, let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you." 9 The wealth of the nations will come to you, and their kings will bring you their treasures. 10 For the riches of the sea will flow to you, and the wealth of the nations come to you. 11 A river will flow from the house of Zion, and a holy spirit will flow from its midst. 12 Then you will suck the milk of nations and be nursed at the breast of kings, and you will know that the Lord is your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob. 13 Instead of bronze, I will bring gold, and instead of iron, I will bring silver. 14 Instead of wood, I will bring cedars, and instead of vines, I will bring cypress trees. 15 They will build your walls with precious stones, and your foundations with sapphires. 16 All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great peace will be yours. 17 No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor destruction or oppression within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise. 18 The sun will no longer be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine down on you, for the Lord will be your light, the Lord will be your glory. 19 Your people will all be righteous and will possess the land forever; they are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, so that I may be glorified. 20 The least one will become a thousand, and the smallest one a mighty nation; I am the Lord; I will accomplish this quickly.
