Here is Isaiah 41 in the Good News Bible (GNB):
Isaiah 41
God's Promise to Israel
1 This is what the Lord says: "Hold on to what is right and don't let go. Keep my laws and you will live." 2 But Israel has rebelled against me and Judah has refused to listen to me. 3 The Lord says, "I will give you strength, you will not be afraid. Look, I will help you, I will take hold of you with my right hand. 4 I will keep you safe, I will give you a new name, you will be called 'My Righteous One,' even though you have not known me. 5 I will give you a new name, you will be called 'My Righteous One,' even though you have not known me. 6 You will be a covenant to the people, a light to the nations, 7 to open blind eyes, to free the prisoners from prison and to release those who are bound. 8 I am the Lord, and there is no other. There is no God but me. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. 9 All who rage against you will stumble and fall, because God is with you, the God of Jacob, who will help you. 10 But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you will be my partner and my covenant. 11 I will give you the treasures of the Egyptians, and you will be the one to plunder the riches of the Cushites. 12 Kings will be your attendants, and princesses will be at your service. 13 You will say in your heart, 'Who is this who speaks and does these things? It is I, the Lord, speaking, the one who does these things, the one who opens a way in the desert and rivers in the wasteland. 14 I, the Lord, am your God, who holds your right hand and says to you, 'Do not fear, I will help you.' 15 Fear not, you worm Jacob, you people of Israel; I will help you, says the Lord. You are my servant, the one I have chosen, the one I have loved, and I will give you the land of Egypt as your inheritance. 16 You will say to me, 'Your ways are not right.' But I will judge you, and I will make your ways right. 17 I will bring your descendants from the east and gather you from the west. 18 I will say to the north, 'Give them up,' and to the south, 'Do not hold them back. Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth. 19 Everyone who is called by my name, whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed and made.' 20 You are my servant, Israel, and you will be called the one I have chosen, the one I have loved. I will give you the land of Egypt as your inheritance, and you will know that I am the Lord your God.
