How to create new line in a cell excel

There are a few ways to create a new line in a cell in Excel:

  1. Press Alt + Enter: This is the most common method. Simply select the cell where you want to create a new line, press the Alt key and the Enter key at the same time, and a new line will be inserted.
  2. Use the Enter key twice: Select the cell where you want to create a new line, press the Enter key once to move to the next line, and then press the Enter key again to create a new line.
  3. Use the Shift + Enter keys: Select the cell where you want to create a new line, press the Shift key and the Enter key at the same time, and a new line will be inserted.
  4. Use the "Line break" button: In the "Home" tab of the ribbon, click on the "Paragraph" button in the "Alignment" group, and then click on the "Line break" button. This will insert a new line in the selected cell.
  5. Use the "Ctrl + Shift + Enter" keys: Select the cell where you want to create a new line, press the Ctrl key, the Shift key, and the Enter key at the same time, and a new line will be inserted.

Note: The above methods will create a new line within the same cell, whereas if you want to create a new cell, you can use the "Insert" tab in the ribbon and click on the "Insert" button.

Also, if you want to create a new line in a specific format, such as a paragraph with multiple lines, you can use the "Paragraph" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon and select the desired format from the dropdown menu.
