House of reps approves n30000 new minimum wage

I think there may be some misinformation here.

The House of Representatives in Nigeria did not approve a new minimum wage of N30,000. In fact, the minimum wage in Nigeria is currently N30,000, which was approved by the Federal Government in 2019.

However, there have been reports of a proposed new minimum wage of N40,000, which was recommended by the Tripartite Committee on Minimum Wage in 2020. The committee, which consisted of representatives from the government, labor unions, and the private sector, submitted its report to the President in October 2020.

The report recommended a new minimum wage of N40,000, which would be an increase from the current N30,000. However, the implementation of the new minimum wage has been delayed due to various factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing economic challenges facing the country.

It's worth noting that the approval of a new minimum wage is a complex process that involves negotiations between the government, labor unions, and other stakeholders. While the House of Representatives may have considered the proposal, it is not clear whether they have actually approved a new minimum wage of N40,000.
