HORROR AS LAGOS STATE FIRE SERVICE RECOVERS DEAD BODY FROM PETROL TANKER, ANOTHER FROM DEEP WELL
Lagos, Nigeria - In a shocking and gruesome discovery, the Lagos State Fire Service has recovered two dead bodies from a petrol tanker and a deep well in separate incidents.
According to eyewitnesses, the first incident occurred on Tuesday evening when a petrol tanker caught fire on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Firefighters from the Lagos State Fire Service were called to the scene to put out the blaze. Upon extinguishing the fire, they discovered a decomposing body inside the tanker.
The body was later identified as that of a 35-year-old man who was believed to have been a passenger in the tanker. The cause of death is still unknown, but it is suspected that the victim may have suffocated from inhaling toxic fumes or suffered fatal injuries in the accident.
In a separate incident, a deep well in the Ikorodu area of Lagos was discovered to contain a decomposing body. The well, which is believed to be over 100 years old, was said to have been abandoned for many years.
According to reports, the body was discovered by a group of villagers who were searching for water in the well. The villagers reportedly found the body at the bottom of the well, which was said to be about 20 feet deep.
The Lagos State Fire Service was called to the scene to recover the body, which was later identified as that of a 40-year-old man. The cause of death is still unknown, but it is suspected that the victim may have fallen into the well or been pushed in.
The two incidents have sent shockwaves through the community, with many residents expressing concern over the safety of public spaces and the need for greater vigilance.
"This is a terrible tragedy," said a resident of the Ikorodu area. "We are still trying to come to terms with what happened. We need to ensure that our public spaces are safe and secure."
The Lagos State Fire Service has promised to investigate both incidents and take necessary steps to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future.
"We are deeply saddened by these incidents and are committed to ensuring that our public spaces are safe and secure," said a spokesperson for the Lagos State Fire Service. "We will leave no stone unturned in our investigation and will take necessary steps to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future."
