Heda tasks solicitor general on 23 high profile corruption cases
It appears that the Head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, has tasked the Solicitor General of the Federation, Dayo Apata, to take charge of 23 high-profile corruption cases.
According to reports, the EFCC boss has directed the Solicitor General to oversee the prosecution of these cases, which involve alleged corruption and financial crimes committed by high-ranking government officials, politicians, and business leaders.
The 23 cases are said to include:
- The case of former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, who is accused of misappropriating N2.2 billion ecological fund.
- The case of former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, who is accused of misappropriating N1.3 billion ecological fund.
- The case of former Governor of Oyo State, Ajimobi Abiola, who is accused of misappropriating N1.2 billion ecological fund.
- The case of former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, who is accused of laundering N90 billion.
- The case of former Governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, who is accused of misappropriating N6.3 billion.
- The case of former Governor of Taraba State, Jolly Nyame, who is accused of misappropriating N1.6 billion.
- The case of former Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, who is accused of misappropriating N15 billion.
