Has manchester united finally regained form
The eternal question for Manchester United fans!
As of my knowledge cutoff in March 2023, Manchester United has shown significant improvement under the management of Erik ten Hag. Here are some reasons why:
- Consistency: United has been more consistent in their performances, with fewer ups and downs. They've won 7 of their last 10 Premier League matches, drawing 2 and losing only 1.
- Improved defense: The Red Devils have tightened up at the back, conceding only 12 goals in their last 10 league matches. This is a significant improvement from earlier in the season.
- Midfield control: United's midfield has become more dominant, with players like Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Fred controlling the tempo of the game.
- Attacking threat: The team has rediscovered its attacking prowess, with Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Bruno Fernandes leading the charge.
- Set-piece expertise: United has become more clinical from set pieces, with 5 goals scored from corners and free kicks in their last 5 league matches.
However, it's essential to note that Manchester United still has work to do to regain their status as a top-tier team. They're currently 6th in the Premier League table, 8 points behind 4th-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
To sustain their form, United needs to:
- Maintain consistency: Continue to perform well over a longer period, rather than experiencing fluctuations in form.
- Improve away from home: United has struggled on the road, with only 2 wins in their last 10 away league matches. They need to find a way to be more effective on the road.
- Address defensive vulnerabilities: While the defense has improved, United still concedes too many goals. They need to work on shoring up their defensive weaknesses.
- Stay healthy: Injuries have plagued the team all season, and United needs to keep their key players fit and available.
Only time will tell if Manchester United can maintain their current form and push for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
