Biography
Hakainde Hichilema was born on June 4, 1962, in Monze, Zambia. He is a businessman and politician who has been involved in Zambian politics for over two decades. He was the leader of the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) and has been a vocal critic of the country's ruling party, the Patriotic Front (PF). In the 2021 presidential election, Hichilema won a landslide victory, defeating incumbent President Edgar Lungu and becoming the first opposition candidate to win the presidency in Zambia's history.
