Guardiola backs misfiring man city star sterling to bounce back

Here's the article:

Pep Guardiola has backed misfiring Manchester City star Raheem Sterling to bounce back from his recent struggles.

Sterling has scored just one goal in his last 12 appearances for City, and has been criticized for his lack of form and consistency.

However, Guardiola has faith in the 26-year-old and believes he will return to his best soon.

"Raheem is a top player, he's a top player," Guardiola said. "He's going to come back, he's going to score goals, he's going to play well. He's a top player, and I'm not worried about him."

Guardiola also praised Sterling's work rate and defensive contributions, saying: "He's not just a goalscorer, he's a player who helps the team a lot. He's a player who is always running, always pressing, always helping the team."

Sterling has been a key player for City since joining the club in 2015, and has won numerous titles including four Premier League crowns and two FA Cups.

Despite his recent struggles, Guardiola is confident that Sterling will continue to be an important player for City in the future.

"I'm not worried about Raheem, I'm not worried about any player," Guardiola said. "I'm worried about the team, I'm worried about the performance, I'm worried about the result. But I'm not worried about Raheem."

Sterling will be looking to get back to scoring ways when City face West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.
