God promised this good news long ago through his prophets

A reference to Isaiah 52:7!

"God promised this good news long ago through his prophets in the holy Scriptures, saying, 'The Lord says to you, "A voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.' Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth.'" (Isaiah 52:7-10, NIV)

This passage is often referred to as the "Good News" or "Good News of Salvation" because it speaks of the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, who would bring salvation to humanity. The prophet Isaiah is proclaiming that God is about to do something new and wonderful, and that He is calling people to prepare the way for His arrival.
