Here is Genesis 20 in the Good News Bible (GNB):

Genesis 20

Abraham and Sarah in Gerar

1 Abraham traveled to the southern part of Canaan and lived for a while between Kadesh and Shur. One day, while he was living in Gerar, 2 Abraham said to himself, "The people of this country are saying, 'Abraham is a foreigner and his wife is his sister.' 3 So I will say that she is my sister, so that I will be treated well and so that I will live."

4 When Abraham came to the king of Gerar, who was Enosh, he said, "I am your servant. You are a wise and powerful king." 5 The king asked, "Who is this woman, and why have you brought her to me?" 6 Abraham replied, "She is my sister. She is the daughter of my father, but not my mother. She is my sister."

7 Then the king took Sarah and put her in his palace. 8 But God came to the king in a dream that night and said, "You are to be punished for taking Abraham's wife. She is not your wife. She is the wife of Abraham." 9 The king called for Abraham and said to him, "What have you done to me? Why did you say that she was your sister?" 10 Abraham replied, "I did it because I thought that the people of this country would kill me to get my wife. 11 Besides, she is really my sister. We both had the same father, but we had different mothers."

12 When God had spoken to the king in a dream, the king called for Abraham and said to him, "Why did you do this? Why did you say that she was your sister?" 13 Abraham replied, "I did it because I thought that the people of this country would kill me to get my wife. 14 Besides, she is really my sister. We both had the same father, but we had different mothers."

15 Then the king gave orders to his men to arrest Abraham and put him in prison. But God came to the king in a dream that night and said, "You are to set Abraham free. He is a righteous man, and he will do what is right. 16 I know that you did not do this because you are a wicked man, but because you did not know what was right and wrong."

17 The king got up early in the morning and called for Abraham and said to him, "Why did you do this? Why did you say that she was your sister?" 18 Abraham replied, "I did it because I thought that the people of this country would kill me to get my wife. 19 Besides, she is really my sister. We both had the same father, but we had different mothers."

20 Then the king gave Abraham his wife back and said, "My kingdom is under your protection. Do what you think is right." 21 Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech and his wife and his slaves, so that they could have children again. 22 Abraham's wife, Sarah, had a son, and Abraham named him Isaac.

23 Abraham was 100 years old when his son Isaac was born. 24 Abraham said to God, "You have given me everything I asked for. You have given me a son, and I will give him back to you." 25 Abraham named Isaac, which means "laughter," because Abraham and Sarah had laughed when they thought they would never have a child.

26 Abraham was 100 years old when his son Isaac was born. 27 Abraham prayed to God, and God said to him, "Do not be afraid, Abraham. I will make a great nation from your descendants. 28 I will make them as many as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the beach. They will take possession of the cities of their enemies, 29 and through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me."

30 Abraham replied, "If only Ishmael could live under your blessing! But you said that my son Isaac would be the one through whom all nations would be blessed. 31 God said to Abraham, "No, your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac. I will make my covenant with him and keep my promise to him as a covenant for his descendants."
