Gary cahill admits january chelsea exit likely
According to various sources, including BBC Sport and The Guardian, Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has admitted that he may leave the club in January.
Cahill, who has been with Chelsea since 2012, has struggled for game time this season under new manager Frank Lampard. The 34-year-old has made just three appearances in the Premier League so far, and has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
In an interview with BBC Sport, Cahill said: "I've been thinking about it, to be honest. I've been thinking about it for a while. I've been trying to get my head around it, but it's not easy.
"I've been at the club for a long time, and it's a big part of my life. But I've also got to think about my career and what's best for me. If that means leaving, then so be it."
Cahill also hinted that he may not be willing to sit on the bench for the rest of the season, saying: "I'm not sure I can do that. I'm not sure I can just sit on the bench and not play. I need to be playing football."
It's worth noting that Cahill's contract with Chelsea expires in the summer, so even if he doesn't leave in January, he may still depart the club at the end of the season.
