French ex pm valls shown clear winner in left wing presidential primaries poll

I think there may be some outdated information here!

Manuel Valls, the former Prime Minister of France, did indeed run in the 2017 French presidential election, but he did not win the left-wing primaries. In fact, he lost the Socialist Party primary to Benoît Hamon, who went on to finish fifth in the general election.

The 2017 French presidential election was a complex and tumultuous event, with several candidates from various parties and factions vying for the presidency. Ultimately, Emmanuel Macron, an independent candidate who had previously served as Minister of the Economy under President François Hollande, won the election in a runoff against Marine Le Pen, the leader of the National Front.

As for Valls, he has since left the Socialist Party and joined the centrist party La République En Marche! (LREM), which was founded by Emmanuel Macron. Valls has been a vocal supporter of Macron and has served as a member of the European Parliament since 2019.
