First fruit in new testament
The first fruit mentioned in the New Testament is the fig tree in Mark 11:12-14, which says:
"And on the next day, when they had left Bethany, He became hungry. And seeing from a distance a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if He might find anything on it; and when He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. And He answered and said to it, 'May no one ever eat fruit from you again, forever.'"
This passage is often seen as a parable or a symbol of the spiritual fruitlessness of the Jewish leaders and the people of Israel at the time.
