Federal high court justices abang and liman redeployed
According to recent reports, two justices of the Federal High Court, Justice Abang and Justice Liman, have been redeployed by the National Judicial Council (NJC).
Justice Abang, who was the presiding judge in the case involving the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has been redeployed to the Benin Division of the Federal High Court.
On the other hand, Justice Liman has been redeployed to the Kano Division of the Federal High Court.
The redeployment of the justices is said to be part of the ongoing efforts by the NJC to reorganize the judiciary and ensure that judges are deployed to courts where their services are needed most.
It is worth noting that the redeployment of judges is a common practice in the Nigerian judiciary, and it is aimed at ensuring that judges are distributed evenly across the country and that they are able to discharge their duties effectively.
However, the redeployment of Justice Abang and Justice Liman has sparked some controversy, with some lawyers and stakeholders expressing concerns about the timing and circumstances of the redeployment.
Some have argued that the redeployment of the justices may be a way of punishing them for their perceived biases or for making decisions that are not in line with the expectations of the government or other powerful interests.
Others have argued that the redeployment is a normal part of the judicial process and that it is not unusual for judges to be redeployed from one court to another.
Regardless of the reasons behind the redeployment, it is clear that the redeployment of Justice Abang and Justice Liman has sparked a lot of interest and debate in the legal community and beyond.
