The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has five commissioners who are responsible for making decisions on a wide range of telecommunications issues. Here are the current FCC commissioners:

  1. Brendan Carr (Republican): Commissioner Carr was appointed by President Donald Trump in 2017 and has been serving as a commissioner since October 2017. He is the current Chairman of the FCC.
  2. Jessica Rosenworcel (Democrat): Commissioner Rosenworcel was appointed by President Barack Obama in 2011 and served as a commissioner until 2017. She was reappointed by President Joe Biden in 2021 and is currently the Acting Chair of the FCC.
  3. Geoffrey Starks (Democrat): Commissioner Starks was appointed by President Joe Biden in 2021 and has been serving as a commissioner since June 2021.
  4. Nathan Simet (Democrat): Commissioner Simet was appointed by President Joe Biden in 2022 and has been serving as a commissioner since May 2022.
  5. Carmelita Hartmann (Republican): Commissioner Hartmann was appointed by President Joe Biden in 2022 and has been serving as a commissioner since May 2022.

Note: The FCC has a tradition of having three commissioners from the president's party and two from the opposing party. However, this is not a formal requirement and can change depending on the circumstances.
