"Escape from New York" is actually a 1981 American science fiction action film written and directed by John Carpenter, starring Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken, a tough-as-nails convict who is sent into a dystopian Manhattan to rescue the President.

Zadie Smith, on the other hand, is a British novelist, essayist, and short story writer, known for her critically acclaimed works such as "White Teeth", "On Beauty", and "Swing Time". While she has written many wonderful books, "Escape from New York" is not one of them!
