Ekiti Begins Recruitment of Teachers
Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State - The Ekiti State Government has announced the commencement of the recruitment of teachers for the state's public schools.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Olabimpe Akinola, made the announcement on Monday at a press conference in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
According to Dr. Akinola, the recruitment exercise is aimed at addressing the shortage of teachers in the state's public schools, which has been a major challenge in recent years.
"We are pleased to announce that the Ekiti State Government has commenced the recruitment of teachers for our public schools," Dr. Akinola said. "This is a major step towards addressing the shortage of teachers in our schools and ensuring that our children receive quality education."
The commissioner explained that the recruitment exercise will be conducted in two phases, with the first phase focusing on the recruitment of teachers for primary schools and the second phase focusing on the recruitment of teachers for secondary schools.
"We will be recruiting teachers in various subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and other core subjects," Dr. Akinola said. "We will also be recruiting teachers with special needs, such as special education teachers and physical education teachers."
The commissioner urged interested candidates to apply for the recruitment exercise, which will be conducted online.
"We encourage all interested candidates to apply online and provide all the required documents, including their academic qualifications and certificates," Dr. Akinola said. "We will also be conducting interviews for shortlisted candidates, and we urge all candidates to be prepared for the interviews."
The Ekiti State Government has also announced that it will provide training and capacity building for newly recruited teachers to ensure that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver quality education to students.
"We are committed to providing quality education to our children, and we believe that this recruitment exercise is a major step towards achieving that goal," Dr. Akinola said.
The recruitment exercise is expected to be completed within the next few months, and newly recruited teachers are expected to resume duty in September.
Requirements for Application
To apply for the recruitment exercise, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Nigerian citizen
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Have a minimum of two years teaching experience
- Be registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN)
- Possess a valid teaching certificate
- Be willing to work in a public school in Ekiti State
