Efcc says recovered 17 vehicles from former customs chief abdullahi dikko
According to reports, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recovered 17 vehicles from the former Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Abdullahi Dikko.
The vehicles, which include luxury cars and SUVs, were allegedly recovered from Dikko's residence in Kaduna State. The EFCC said the vehicles were part of the assets traced to Dikko as part of its investigation into allegations of corruption and abuse of office against him.
Dikko was removed from office in 2019 and replaced by Hameed Ali, a retired colonel. He was subsequently arrested and charged with corruption-related offenses.
The EFCC has been investigating Dikko for allegedly misappropriating public funds and engaging in other corrupt practices during his tenure as Customs boss. The commission has also recovered other assets, including cash and properties, allegedly linked to Dikko.
The recovery of the 17 vehicles is seen as a significant development in the ongoing investigation into Dikko's activities, and it is expected to help the EFCC build a stronger case against him.
It is worth noting that Dikko has denied any wrongdoing and has described the allegations against him as politically motivated. However, the EFCC has maintained that its investigation is based on credible evidence and that Dikko's actions were inconsistent with his official duties as Customs boss.
