Efcc re arraigns fani kayode nenadi usman

It appears that there is a recent development in the case of Femi Fani-Kayode and Nenadi Usman, who are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to reports, the EFCC has re-arraigned Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, and Nenadi Usman, a former Minister of State for Finance, before a Federal High Court in Lagos on charges of money laundering and stealing.

The re-arraignment is reportedly due to the fact that the initial charges against the duo were struck out by the court in 2016, but the EFCC has now re-filed the charges.

Fani-Kayode and Usman are accused of conspiring to steal N7.5 billion from the Federal Government's account during the 2015 general elections. They are also alleged to have laundered the stolen funds through various bank accounts.

The re-arraignment is expected to proceed despite the objections raised by the defendants' lawyers, who argue that the charges are statute-barred and that the EFCC has failed to provide sufficient evidence to support the allegations.

It will be interesting to see how this case unfolds and whether the defendants will be able to successfully defend themselves against the charges.
