Ecclesiastes 11 new world translation
Here is Ecclesiastes 11 in the New World Translation:
11:1 Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days.
11:2 Give a portion to seven, and also to eight, for you do not know what calamity may occur upon the earth.
11:3 If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth, and if a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it will lie.
11:4 He who keeps watch over his spirit in the day of misfortune will even save his soul.
11:5 As you do not know what the way of the spirit is, nor how the bones are formed in the womb, so you do not know the works of God, who makes everything.
11:6 In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not let your hand rest, for you do not know which one will prosper, whether this one or that one, or whether both will do equally well.
11:7 Light is sweet, and a pleasant dwelling is the pleasantness of the soul.
11:8 It is good for a person to draw back his spirit and to receive discipline.
11:9 Do not be eager in your heart to be angry, for anger resides in the bosom of fools.
11:10 Do not say, "Why were the former days better than these?" For it is not wise to ask about this.
11:11 Wisdom is as good as an inheritance, and it is advantageous to find it.
11:12 For the protection of wisdom is like the protection of money, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of its owner.
11:13 Consider the work of God, for who can make straight what he has made crooked?
11:14 In the day of prosperity, be joyful, but in the day of adversity, consider; God has made the one as well as the other, so that man may not find out anything that will happen after him.
