Easy streets in the new testament
While the concept of "easy streets" is not a direct translation from the New Testament, there are several passages that speak to the idea of living a life of peace, joy, and freedom in Christ. Here are a few examples:
- Matthew 11:28-30: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

- Romans 8:1-2: "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
- 2 Corinthians 12:9-10: "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
- Philippians 4:4-7: "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
These passages suggest that as followers of Christ, we can experience a life of ease, peace, and joy, even in the midst of challenges and difficulties. This is not to say that we will never face hardships, but rather that we can trust in God's presence and power to sustain us and guide us through them.
