Dua for a new born baby
Here are some beautiful Duas (prayers) that can be recited for a newborn baby:
For the baby's health and well-being:
- "Allahumma innee as'aluka khair al-waladin wa khair al-ahli wa khair al-mawla wa khair al-ma'ashi, wa a'udhu bika min sharri al-waladin wa sharri al-ahli wa sharri al-mawla wa sharri al-ma'ashi" (O Allah, I ask You for good health, good family, good wealth, and good life, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of health, family, wealth, and life).
- "Rabbi yassir wa tukhlid, wa 'afina wa 'innaika afuwwun, 'afuwwun, 'afuwwun" (My Lord, make it easy for me and make my child easy to care for, and grant us forgiveness, for You are the Most Forgiving).
For the baby's spiritual growth and guidance:
- "Allahumma ajirnee min al-jahim, wa ajirnee min al-khayl, wa ajirnee min al-fawasil, wa ajirnee min al-mawtal, wa ajirnee min al-mawtal, wa ajirnee min al-mawtal, wa ajirnee min al-mawtal" (O Allah, save me from the Fire, and save my child from the Fire, and save us from the evil of the Shaytan, and guide us to the straight path).
- "Rabbi zidnee ilman wa faqih, wa 'allimnee al-Qur'an, wa 'allimnee al-Sunnah, wa 'allimnee al-Hadith, wa 'allimnee al-Fiqh, wa 'allimnee al-Tafsir" (My Lord, increase my knowledge and wisdom, and teach me the Quran, the Sunnah, the Hadith, the Fiqh, and the Tafsir).
For the baby's parents and family:
- "Allahumma innee as'aluka khair al-waladin wa khair al-ahli, wa khair al-mawla, wa khair al-ma'ashi, wa a'udhu bika min sharri al-waladin wa sharri al-ahli wa sharri al-mawla wa sharri al-ma'ashi" (O Allah, I ask You for good health, good family, good wealth, and good life for my child, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of health, family, wealth, and life).
