Dstv new tariffs 2018

In 2018, MultiChoice, the parent company of DSTV, introduced new tariffs for its subscribers in South Africa. The new tariffs were effective from April 1, 2018, and aimed to provide more flexibility and value to customers.

Here are the new DSTV tariffs that were introduced in 2018:

DSTV Premium

• Old tariff: R749 per month
• New tariff: R799 per month (a 6.7% increase)

DSTV Compact Plus

• Old tariff: R499 per month
• New tariff: R549 per month (a 9.8% increase)

DSTV Compact

• Old tariff: R349 per month
• New tariff: R399 per month (a 14.5% increase)

DSTV Family

• Old tariff: R249 per month
• New tariff: R299 per month (a 19.7% increase)

DSTV Access

• Old tariff: R149 per month
• New tariff: R199 per month (a 33.6% increase)

PVR Decoders

• DSTV PVR decoder: R499 (was R399)
• DSTV PVR decoder with 1TB hard drive: R699 (was R599)

Additional changes

• The new tariffs also introduced a new "Smart LCN" feature, which allows customers to easily navigate and find their favorite channels.
• The "DSTV Catch Up" service, which allows customers to watch recorded shows online, was also introduced.

It's worth noting that these tariffs were only applicable to new customers, and existing customers were grandfathered in at their existing rates. However, existing customers were still required to pay the new tariffs if they upgraded their decoder or changed their package.
