Additional changes
- The new tariffs will apply to all new subscribers and existing subscribers who renew their subscriptions after the effective date of the tariff changes.
- Subscribers who are currently on a promotional offer will be notified of the end of their promotional period and will be moved to the new tariff.
- Subscribers who are on a contract will not be affected by the tariff changes until their contract expires.
Why the tariff changes?
DSTV has cited increased costs, including the cost of content and infrastructure, as the reason for the tariff changes. The company has also stated that the new tariffs are designed to reflect the value that subscribers receive from their DSTV subscription.
What can subscribers do?
Subscribers who are unhappy with the tariff changes can consider the following options:
- Negotiate with DSTV to see if they can offer a better deal.
- Consider switching to a different TV provider.
- Look for alternative streaming services that offer similar content at a lower cost.
It's worth noting that DSTV has also introduced a new "Pick 'n Pay" option, which allows subscribers to choose which channels they want to pay for, rather than being forced to subscribe to a full bouquet. This option is available on the DSTV Compact, Compact Plus, and Premium bouquets.
