Dont pour old wine in new wine skins

A great reference to Matthew 9:17!

In this verse, Jesus is teaching his disciples about the importance of not trying to fit old things into new contexts. The phrase "old wine in new wine skins" is a metaphor for trying to preserve old ways of thinking, doing things, or holding onto old traditions in a new era or context.

Jesus is saying that just as old wine skins are not designed to hold new wine, which would burst the skins and spoil the wine, similarly, old ways of thinking and doing things are not suitable for the new era of God's kingdom. The old ways are not compatible with the new wine of God's Spirit, and trying to force them to fit will only lead to frustration, failure, and even spiritual stagnation.

In essence, Jesus is encouraging his disciples (and us) to be open to new ways of living, thinking, and serving, and to be willing to adapt and change in order to accommodate the new wine of God's Spirit. This requires a willingness to let go of old habits, traditions, and ways of thinking that are no longer relevant or effective, and to embrace the fresh, new wine of God's kingdom.

This principle has far-reaching implications for our personal lives, our relationships, and our ministries. It reminds us that we must be willing to evolve, adapt, and innovate in order to stay relevant and effective in our walk with God and in our service to others.
