To apply for a new passport in India as a retired person, you will need to submit the following documents:
Proof of Identity:
- Original and photocopy of your retired ID card (e.g., pension card, retirement certificate, or ID card issued by your employer).
- Original and photocopy of your Aadhaar card (if you have one).
Proof of Address:
- Original and photocopy of your electricity bill, water bill, or gas bill (not more than 3 months old).
- Original and photocopy of your bank statement or passbook (not more than 3 months old).
- Original and photocopy of your lease agreement or property deed (if you own a property).
Proof of Date of Birth:
- Original and photocopy of your birth certificate.
- Original and photocopy of your matriculation certificate or school leaving certificate.
Proof of Retirement:
- Original and photocopy of your retirement letter or certificate from your employer.
- Original and photocopy of your pension payment order or pension slip.
Photographs:
- Two recent, color, passport-sized photographs (size: 2 inches x 2 inches) with a white background.
Application Form:
- Fill out the application form (Form No. 1) in black ink and sign it in the presence of the passport officer.

- If you have changed your name, you will need to provide a certified copy of the relevant document (e.g., marriage certificate, divorce decree, or court order).
