Different form of ice breaker
Here are some different forms of ice breakers:
- Two Truths and a Lie: Each person tells two true statements about themselves and one false statement. The others have to guess which one is the lie.
- Human Bingo: Create bingo cards with different traits, characteristics, or interests in each square (e.g. "has traveled to another country", "speaks more than one language", etc.). Each person has to find someone who fits each of the characteristics and get them to sign the corresponding square.
- The Name Game: Have each person introduce themselves and share a unique fact about themselves that starts with the same letter as their name (e.g. "I'm Sarah and I love sailing").
- Scavenger Hunt: Create a list of items or challenges that people have to complete in small groups or as individuals. This can be a fun way to get people moving and interacting with each other.
- Would You Rather: Present two difficult choices and ask each person which one they would prefer. For example, "Would you rather be able to fly or be able to breathe underwater?"
- Word Association Game: Have each person write down a word on a piece of paper, fold it up, and pass it to the person on their right. Then, each person has to say a word that is associated with the word they received.
- Show and Tell: Ask each person to bring an object that represents something about themselves (e.g. a favorite book, a piece of jewelry, etc.) and share a brief story about it.
- The Human Knot: Have each person stand in a circle and put their hands in the center. Each person should grab the hand of someone across from them, not next to them. Then, they have to work together to untangle themselves without letting go of each other's hands.
- Speed Friending: Inspired by speed dating, have each person talk to someone for a set amount of time (e.g. 2-3 minutes) and then ring a bell to signal that it's time to move on to the next person.
- Creative Ice Breaker: Ask each person to create a short poem, drawing, or piece of music that represents themselves. Then, have each person share their creation with the group.
- Group Mural: Provide a large piece of paper or whiteboard and ask each person to contribute to a group mural. This can be a fun way to get people working together and sharing their ideas.
- Interview Game: Pair people up and have them interview each other for a set amount of time (e.g. 5-7 minutes). Then, have each person share a key takeaway or interesting fact they learned about their partner.
- Word Chain: Have each person think of a word that starts with the last letter of the previous word. For example, if the previous word was "cat", the next person might say "turtle" because turtle starts with the letter "t".
- Two Minute Talks: Ask each person to give a two-minute talk on a topic of their choice. This can be a great way to get people sharing their passions and interests with the group.
- Group Storytelling: Start telling a story and then pass it on to the next person, who continues the story. This can be a fun way to get people sharing their creativity and imagination.
Remember, the key to a successful ice breaker is to make it fun and engaging, while also encouraging people to interact with each other and share a little bit about themselves.
