Deactivate opera news
To deactivate Opera News on your Opera browser, follow these steps:
Method 1: Disable Opera News from the Opera menu
- Open Opera browser and click on the Opera menu (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner.
- Click on "Settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down to the "News" section.
- Toggle off the switch next to "Opera News" to disable it.
Method 2: Disable Opera News from the Opera News icon
- Open Opera browser and click on the Opera News icon (a news headline) in the top right corner of the browser window.
- Click on the three vertical dots next to the Opera News icon.
- Click on "Settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Toggle off the switch next to "Enable Opera News" to disable it.
Method 3: Disable Opera News from the browser settings file
- Open the Opera browser settings file in a text editor (e.g., Notepad on Windows or TextEdit on Mac).
- Locate the following line:
news.enabled = true
- Change the value to
news.enabled = false
- Save the changes to the settings file.
After disabling Opera News, you should no longer see the Opera News feed in your browser. If you want to re-enable it, simply follow the same steps and toggle the switch back on.
