Crystal palace boss hodgson provides kouyate injury update
Here's a possible update:
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has provided an update on the injury status of midfielder Cheikhou Kouyaté, who has been sidelined with a hamstring problem.
Kouyaté, who has been a key player for the Eagles this season, suffered the injury during the 2-0 win over Manchester City on New Year's Eve. Since then, he has missed several matches, including the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur and the 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Speaking to the media ahead of Palace's Premier League clash with Watford on Saturday, Hodgson revealed that Kouyaté is making progress in his recovery, but is still not ready to return to action just yet.
"He's doing okay, he's making progress," Hodgson said. "He's been working hard in training, but he's still not quite ready to play. We're hoping he'll be back with us soon, but we'll have to wait and see."
Hodgson also praised Kouyaté's professionalism and dedication to getting back fit, saying: "Cheikhou is a very diligent player, he's always been very professional in his approach to his work. He's been working hard to get back fit and we're hoping that will pay off soon."
Palace will be hoping to get Kouyaté back in action as soon as possible, as his absence has been felt in midfield. The Eagles have struggled to create chances and control games without him, and his return could be a significant boost to their chances of climbing the table.
