Here's a step-by-step guide to create a new group in WhatsApp:

Method 1: Create a new group from the Chats tab

1. Open WhatsApp on your phone.
2. Tap on the Chats tab at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap the "New Group" button (represented by a green plus sign) at the top right corner of the screen.
4. Enter a name for your group in the "Group name" field.
5. Add participants to the group by searching for their names or phone numbers. You can add up to 256 participants in a group.
6. Tap the "Create" button to create the group.

Method 2: Create a new group from a conversation

1. Open WhatsApp and go to a conversation with the people you want to add to the new group.
2. Tap the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the screen.
3. Tap "New Group" from the menu.
