Create in me a new heart sermon

Here's a new heart sermon on the topic of "A Heart of Compassion":

Title: "A Heart of Compassion: The Key to a Life of Love"

Text: Matthew 9:36-38

Introduction:

Have you ever felt like you're just going through the motions of life, without any real sense of purpose or passion? Maybe you've been feeling stuck, like you're just existing rather than truly living. Today, I want to talk to you about something that can change all of that: a heart of compassion.

The Problem:

In Matthew 9:36-38, we see Jesus encountering a crowd of people who were suffering and in need. They were like sheep without a shepherd, lost and helpless. And what did Jesus do? He had compassion on them. He saw their need, and his heart was moved to action.

But how many of us can say that we have a heart like Jesus'? How many of us can say that we truly care about the needs of others, and are willing to do something about it?

The Solution:

The solution to this problem is not just about doing good deeds or volunteering our time. It's about having a heart that is truly compassionate. It's about seeing the needs of others, and being moved to action by the love of God.

In Matthew 22:37-40, Jesus teaches us that the second greatest commandment is to "love your neighbor as yourself." But what does that really mean? It means that we are to love others with the same love that God has shown us. It means that we are to see the needs of others, and be willing to do whatever it takes to meet those needs.

The Power of Compassion:

When we have a heart of compassion, we open ourselves up to the power of God. We become vessels for his love and his mercy. We become instruments of his peace and his justice.

And when we live with a heart of compassion, we experience the joy and the fulfillment that comes from living a life of love. We experience the sense of purpose and passion that comes from knowing that we are making a difference in the world.

The Challenge:

So, I want to challenge you today to examine your heart. Are you living with a heart of compassion? Are you seeing the needs of others, and being moved to action by the love of God?

If not, I want to encourage you to start small. Start by praying for those around you, and asking God to give you a heart of compassion. Start by looking for opportunities to serve and to help others. Start by living with a sense of purpose and passion, and see where God takes you.

Conclusion:

A heart of compassion is not just a feeling, it's a choice. It's a choice to see the needs of others, and to be moved to action by the love of God. It's a choice to live a life of love, and to make a difference in the world.

So, I want to leave you with a challenge today. I want to challenge you to live with a heart of compassion. I want to challenge you to see the needs of others, and to be moved to action by the love of God. And I want to challenge you to experience the joy and the fulfillment that comes from living a life of love.

May God bless you as you seek to live with a heart of compassion.
