Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) is the government agency responsible for maritime safety, security, and environmental protection in New Zealand. MNZ recognizes the following countries' maritime authorities:

- China - China Maritime Safety Administration (CMSA)
- European Union - European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA)
- France - French Maritime Authority (Prefecture Maritime)
- Germany - German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH)
- India - Indian Ministry of Shipping
- Japan - Japan Coast Guard
- Korea - Korean Coast Guard
- Malaysia - Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA)

MNZ also recognizes the following international organizations:

MNZ has reciprocal recognition agreements with some of these countries and organizations, which allows for mutual recognition of certificates, endorsements, and other documentation. This facilitates the movement of vessels, crew, and cargo between New Zealand and other countries, and helps to ensure compliance with international maritime standards and regulations.
