The new Abuja International Airport terminal, also known as the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) Terminal A, is a major infrastructure project in Nigeria. The cost of the project is estimated to be around ₦208 billion (approximately $560 million USD).
The project was awarded to the Chinese construction company, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), in 2013. The construction of the terminal began in 2014 and was completed in 2018.
The new terminal has a total floor area of 56,000 square meters and can accommodate up to 5 million passengers per annum. It features modern facilities and amenities, including:

- 12 departure gates

- 2,000 square meters of retail space
- 1,500 square meters of food and beverage space

The new terminal is designed to provide a more comfortable and efficient travel experience for passengers, with features such as:
- Automated people movers (APMs) to transport passengers between the terminal and the apron
- Advanced baggage handling system
- Automated security screening systems
- Advanced air traffic control systems
- High-speed internet connectivity
- Modern lighting and air conditioning systems
- Energy-efficient design and equipment
The project was funded by the Federal Government of Nigeria, with a loan from the Export-Import Bank of China. The loan was valued at $500 million, with a 20-year repayment period.
